This week we will spend our time in Matthew 16:13-20 and asking the question, “Who are you?” And perhaps more importantly, “How can we really know?” We have to apply this question to both Jesus and finally to ourselves. But if we are honest with ourselves the answers might be fairly interesting!
If you cannot be with us this Sunday don’t miss out on what’s going on. Download our weekly bulletin here: August 10th Bulletin.

It’s been a great July! We started the month with a baptismal service, enjoyed Family Camp at Mt. Carmel, and then celebrated church in the park with several other churches! We’ll be back at Emmanuel tomorrow to close out the month with a message on the Gospel! Do we really know what it is? Paul makes it pretty clear and Jesus weighs in on it’s importance.
If you cannot make it out tomorrow, download our bulletin to keep up with the future happenings at Emmanuel. Next week Bill Huebner (Men for Missions) will be joining us so don’t miss out on his latest work with the mission!

We’ve spent a few weeks talking about the Basics of Christianity. There is nothing more basic, or foundational, than the necessity of Scripture to our faith. But, can we really trust that the Bible is what it says it is? There are many reasons that people claim the Bible is untrustworthy…circular arguments, lack of original documentation, and what about all those ‘banned books of the Bible?’ So, is our faith really just an existential leap or are their good reasons to trust this book?
That will be the subject of our service on Sunday morning. Hope to see you there! But, if you cannot make it you can check out our bulletin for this week here

Religion attempts to organize the tenants of faith into a reproducible system that one can live by. It tries to make sense of a collection of facts, stories, and feelings. But sometimes, in trying to make sense of it all we can lose the object of religion. Is Christianity a religion? Is that all it is? Could you come up with a coherent definition of ‘Christianity’ if someone put you on the spot right now?
Lets try to make sense of what we really believe…why we believe it…and then maybe it’ll have some powerful impact on the way that we live our lives. Yes, we need structure, codes of conduct, ethics, and morality…but is that all?
Make sure to be at church tomorrow because we are going to celebrate everyone’s birthday! There are tables set up for each month and a cake for each table. We’ll begin with a potluck lunch and just have a great afternoon together!
If you cannot make it tomorrow you can grab your bulletin here to keep up with all of the happenings this week.
